With close proximity to the NEC, our hotel is ideally located. The National Exhibition Centre or NEC Birmingham is one of the best-known venues of its type in Europe. The NEC is located in Solihull and was first opened by HM The Queen way back in 1976 and has undergone a host of changes during the past four decades. The complex is arguably the most popular venue amongst the exhibitors of Britain and is home to 19 exhibition halls, 12 more than it played host to when it originally opened its doors. It also has 34 conference suites and a range of additional outdoor spaces.
A world-class venue
Around 500 events take part at the centre each year. Events which have taken place at the NEC annually include the BBC’s Good Food Show and Gardeners’ World Live. The NEC is also the home of Crufts and has played host to Clothes Show Live, the Horse of the Year Show, Grand Designs Live and many more.
A new name for the arena
The Resorts World Arena is part of the NEC and has gone by many names over the years. It’s possible that you know it by one or more of its previous names, which have included the LG Arena, the NEC Arena, the Birmingham International Arena and the Genting Arena. The arena has a capacity of 16,000 and is seen as a competitor to the Manchester Arena and the O2 Arena in London. It is one of the world’s busiest arenas and was renamed the Resorts World Arena in December 2018. It takes its new name from the fact that is located just a short distance from Genting’s Resorts World Birmingham. The Arena has played host to some of the biggest names in entertainment and is around 18 minutes away from the Limes Country Lodge and Hotel by car. This makes our venue ideal for those looking for somewhere to stay when watching a big event in the area.
